چکیده

Effect of several irrigation of sugar industry effluent was studied on vegetative and yield characteristics of L. var. Varuna type 59. Crop showed vigrous enhancement in almost all the vegetative and yield characteristics studied and generally it was seen that the enhancement in vegetative and yield characteristics are directly related to the number of irrigation with sugar industry effluents. Maximum increase in almost all the parameters was recorded in T treatment (all the three irrigations with the sugar industry effluent). This enhancement in vegetative characters may be due to the suitable pH and chemical composition of the sugar industry effluent. The presence of nitrogen, phosphorus, magnesium and sulphur etc. in effluent play important roles in growth and development of the plants by taking part in some of the vital processes. Effect of salicylic acid on cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. Capitata) grown under salinity stress. Sunaina and Narsingh Bahadur Singh*

The effects of salicylic acid (SA) on growth and metabolism of Brassica oleracea var. Capitata under salt stress was studied in a hydroponic culture. NaCl at 50 mM concentration and SA at 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5mM concentrations were used as treatments.  The results showed that salt exhibited inhibitory effects on shoot and root length, fresh and dry weight, and RWC of the seedlings. NaCl at 50 mM co...

Use of Response Surface Methodology Analysis for Xanthan Biopolymer Production by Xanthomonas campestris: Focus on Agitation Rate, Carbon Source, and Temperature

The current study is an attempt to contribute for efficient and cost-effective substrates for xanthan gum production. In this context, the sugar cane molasses wastes can be used as a cheap substrate for xanthan gum production. Xanthan biopolymer production by a novel Xanthomonas campestris strain IBRC-M 10644 was optimized with statistical approaches. Based on the results ...

Directional transfer of a multiple-allele male sterile line in Brassica campestris L. ssp. chinensis (L.) Makino var. rosularis Tsen et Lee

To produce hybrid seeds of Wutacai (Brassica campestris L. ssp. chinensis (L.) Makino var. rosularis Tsen et Lee), a "directional transfer program" was designed to breed the multiple-allele male sterile line of Wutacai. A multiple-allele male sterile line of Naibaicai (Brassica campestris L. ssp. chinensis L., S01) was used as the male sterile resource, and an inbred line of Wutacai (WT01) was ...
